It is certain that life will present difficult circumstances that we all must face, encounter and experience.   It is during these moments that we must dig deep and find the strength to carry on and move forward through life – it is these moments that we must find something to believe in.  Whether that belief is a deep held value, a higher purpose or vision, religion or even yourself, is irrelevant – just as long as you believe in something great is all that matters.

During a time of struggle, being introduced to to Christianity at a young age, our request for assistance was conveyed through symbolic imagery representing the Christian religion.  However, as we’ve expanded our knowledge of theology, future imagery might change and synergize

Our Prayer

It splits our psyche and makes us depressed;
It isolates, disconnects, and distracts us from our quest.

It slowly infects and poisons our minds;
It transforms our world into a place cruel and unkind.

It makes our thoughts toxic and increasingly loud;
It replaces our sun with a permanent cloud.
It robs us of life, purpose and meaning;
It causes us to dig deep to find reason for being.

It makes us contemplate what will happen after we die; it creates pain so unbearable, yet we’re unable to cry.  Constantly fearful, scared and alone; A recluse to the world, it makes us feel we’re all on our own.

It deprives us of feelings, except only for pain; it makes us question whether we have gone completely insane.

Faster and faster, it drags us down its abyss;
To a place so dark, even You cease to exist.

We wonder how much more we have left to give;
To fight this battle we must win to continue to live.

Please help us, please save us, from its curse,
From its spell;
Please will You deliver us from living this Hell?

We hope you can hear
And acknowledge this prayer;
Show us Your light
And rescue us from despair.

Faith says You are close,
Always watching with an eye;
For this we’ll live on, at least we will try.

We ask for strength, courage, wisdom,
And a touch of Your grace;
And for the patience to wait
Until the day we can meet face to face.

Until then we go back to our struggle to
Avoid being swallowed by its black hole;
Making every effort to clean, cleanse,
Heal and forever free our soul.

A final request,
Allow us to see the good in all men;
